Clune House Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located at the quieter end of Main Street in Newtonmore. A delightful Victorian building, full of character, carefully restored & modernised, it offers to provide everything you’ll need for a very enjoyable stay.
Are you looking for a friendly, comfortable, good quality B&B? One which is adults-only, makes single guests feel especially at home and is dog-friendly? Are you someone who’ll welcome an environment where you’re encouraged to take time out from your phone or tablet and to enjoy the company of your fellow guests? If so, Clune House is the place for you.
We’re John & Irene England. We moved here in 2018 after 14 very successful years running a guest house nearby, where we regularly received VisitScotland’s 4-Star Gold Award. Stay with us here at Clune House and you’ll enjoy the identical standards that won us those 4 coveted gold stars.
We offer a warm, humorous welcome and great service. Our facilities include well-equipped, spacious bedrooms with really comfortable beds and en-suite facilities, a relaxing guest lounge, peaceful back garden and ample off-road parking.
Frequently described as the best in the area, Irene’s excellent breakfasts are served around the communal breakfast table.
2018 was a very enjoyable “Gap Year” for us – we took some time out to travel, catch up with the theatre, shows etc. as well, of course, as making sure that Clune House is how we want it to be, ready to welcome guests this year. We will be up and running again from 5th April 2019. The counter just below shows you how many days to go!
If you would like to come and stay with us after 5th April, we’ll be delighted to see you and we’re happy to take your booking just as soon as you are ready, please just get in touch. We look forwards to hearing from you.

Newtonmore is a delightful, friendly, traditional village and an ideal location from which you can explore the many attractions in the area and in the Cairngorms National Park. Details of all the activities and attractions are here for you – browse away to your heart’s content.
The village itself holds a lot of things to see and do – you can, for example, spend an afternoon, indeed, a whole day, at our excellent Highland Folk Museum, visit the Clan MacPherson museum, savour the peace, quiet & tremendous views as you walk the 10 kms of the Wildcat Trail or simply stroll round the village, enjoying the exciting Wildcat Experience seeing just how many of our resident wildcats you can spot!
Newtonmore also has a good choice of places to get a bite to eat, a drink or two or a cup of coffee or tea. You’ll not need to go anywhere else but, if you feel the need, just up the road is the village of Kingussie, capital of Ancient Badenoch and, a little further north, the town of Aviemore with its even wider choice of shops and restaurants.
