The “small print” is laid out below, please take a minute or two to browse through it, then you’ll know as much as we do.

No. We simply ask you for your credit or debit card details to guarantee your booking. We do not take any money at the time you book, leaving you to pay your bill when you take your leave of us.

If you cancel your booking within 14 days of your confirmed date of arrival and we are unable to re-let your room, we reserve the right to make a cancellation charge of £25.00 per person per night. This amount will be charged to the card you gave us to confirm your booking and we’ll send you the paperwork so that you can claim it back off your travel insurance.

Sad to say, there are some guests who simply don’t turn up for their booking!! In the event of this happening, we have no choice but to charge the full cost of your stay to the card you gave us to confirm your booking. Again, we will, of course, send you the paperwork to allow you to reclaim the amount from your travel insurance.

Check in time is between 16.00 and 20.00. If your travel plans mean that you need to arrive earlier or later, please just let us know when you book and we shall be here.

If you are unavoidably delayed and can’t avoid arriving later than 20.00, we’d appreciate you letting us know. It is best, please to do this by giving us a quick call on 01540 673146, because we do not check our e-mails every 5 minutes.

When the time comes to say goodbye, we ask you to vacate your room by 10.30 on the morning of your departure.

Sorry, no. We are an adults-only B&B.

Dogs are most welcome. We ask that their well-behaved owners ensure that our other guests enjoy the dog’s company too. Please see the Dogs Welcome Page.

We pride ourselves in providing choices for guests with special dietary needs. We simply ask that you let us know about yours at the time you make your booking.

We serve breakfast between 8.00 am and 9.00 am daily. If, however, you need an earlier breakfast time, we’ll be happy to oblige. Please discuss this with us when you make your booking.

Our beds are made up with non-allergenic pillows and duvets for you – problem solved. If you would prefer a feather pillow, please ask, again no problem at all.

While mobile phones, tablets and laptops are wonderful things, we hold the view that they have appropriate places and times in all our lives. If your view is different and you prefer to have your phone or tablet to hand at all times, no problem, but our B&B is probably not going to be the ideal place for you. Because, to avoid you disturbing or appearing rude to your fellow guests, we have a few simple requests which we ask you to respect.

One of the reasons that our B&B works the way it does is that our Guest Lounge and especially the Breakfast Table are meant to be happy, sociable places for you to enjoy the experience of mixing with your fellow guests and even with us!!

  1. During breakfast time, (8.00 am until everyone is finished), the Breakfast Table is a place for eating and chatting. It is not a place for mobile phones, tablets and laptops. Please leave them all in your bedroom at this time.
  1. When you’re in the Guest Lounge at other times, to avoid those pings, dings, whistles and bells which are so annoying to other folk, we simply ask you to set your phone to silent and the volume on your tablet or laptop to nil.
  1. For the same reasons, the Guest Lounge is not the place to make or receive phone calls or texts, or use Facetime, Skype and the like. These are things best done in the privacy of your bedroom.

The simple answer is no. We do not offer any facilities at all in the house for guests who wish to smoke or vape. We do provide a “Butt Bin” in the car park in which we ask you to deposit your cigarette ends.
